Midrasha is an exciting, innovative high school program co-sponsored by the Center for Jewish Living and Learning. Students from Temple Beth Abraham and many other synagogues in the area gather at one of the Midrashot for a program both academic and social. Students will uncover their own feelings about Judaism and God, learn intricacies of Halacha - Jewish law, and will participate in activities including creative writing, theater, multimedia, visual arts and more. There are programs designed for each individual grade including a Confirmation class for 10th graders taught by Rabbi Bloom for the Temple Beth Abraham students. Each year in late spring, our 10th graders participate in a Confirmation ceremony where they help lead a Friday night service and offer drashot on a topic assigned to them.

Most students from Temple Beth Abraham attend the Midrasha class at either Temple Sinai on Tuesday evenings, or on Sunday mornings in Berkeley at their new facility. There are also Midrasha classes in Lafayette, Walnut Creek, and Fremont. The program includes retreats in beautiful locations where students from all of the Midrashot gather together for learning and socializing.
